Retinal Scanning
We were an early adaptor of this Optical Coherence Tomography technology being the first in the Bay of Plenty to have this technology within an optometry practice in 2014. In 2024 we have updated our OCT to the latest Zeiss 6000 OCT with astouding scans speeds allowing greater resolution of the retina and now with an ability to scan the cornea and anterior structures of the eye.
What is an OCT?
An OCT provides high resolution images of the anterior segment of the eye and retina, especially the macula and optic nerve head. It takes a detailed, 3D image below the surface of your retina, and it’s now the gold standard in vivo imaging device for the retina. It’s able to provide real time, cross-sectional images and analysis to optimise the diagnosis and monitoring of retinal disease.
Retinal scanning has a cost of 75.00.
