Are you concerned about your Son or Daughter’s eyesight?

Learning to read, write, catch a ball, play games and interact with others all depend on your child being able to see what they’re doing.

If you’re worried about your child’s vision, here’s what to look for.

9 Signs Your Child Has A Vision Problem:

Does your Son or Daughter…

  1. Close one eye to read?
  2. Sit really close to the TV ?
  3. Have frequent headaches?
  4. Hate doing close-up work?
  5. Turn or tilt their head to the side often?
  6. Blink or rubs their eyes a lot?
  7. Squint or appear cross-eyed?
  8. Lose their place when reading? (or skip lines)
  9. Read very slowly? Or rely on their finger to keep track of where they are?

If the problems above sound familiar, then it’s important to arrange an eye check-up as soon as possible.

What else can I do to keep my child’s eyes in the best possible health?

The New Zealand Ministry of Health recommend children have their eyes examined:

  • At 6 months old
  • At 2 years of age
  • When starting school
