Our Team

A director at Langford Callard since 1996 and the transition to Tauranga Eyecare in 2017 , Mike enjoys the long term care of patients that independent optometry enables. With a post-graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics, and  interests in specialty contact lens fitting,dry eye,myopia management and sports vision solutions. Passionate about all sport, he will be found  crashing tennis balls, ripping MTB tracks and sea kayaking.

Celia graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Optometry with Ocular Therapeutics. Initially working in Australia she returned to the Bay becoming a director at Langford Callard in 2013 and the transition to Tauranga Eyecare in 2017. Celia enjoys problem solving and also the fashion side of optometry. She’s keen on water sports and is very happy to be back in the sunny BOP.

Lynley has been an optometrist with us for a number of years interspersed with an OE and motherhood. She works part time at both practices. She is passionate about the needs of those with low vision and receives referrals from Tauranga Eye Specialists for assessments. She is one of 2 optometrist assessors in NZ for the new intraocular telescope for advanced macula degeneration and has achieved certification from the NZAO in low vision.

Clare,joined Tauranga Eyecare in 2019. She graduated from the University of Auckland in 2009 with a Bachelor of Optometry with ocular therapeutics. Since then Clare has practiced throughout the North and South Island as well as Australia. Clare is passionate about improving peoples vision and quality of life through optometry. She has a special interest in ocular therapeutics, myopia control, and dry eye treatments.  ”

Deborah,a fully qualified and registered Dispensing Optician(Distinction 2006) joined our team in 2011 after moving from Whakatane. In 2019 she was appointed the practice manager of Tauranga Eyecare. Deborah’s passion is your frame and lens selection. She is especially excited with the latest lens technologies from Zeiss and Hoya. In her spare time life is hectic keeping up with her 3 young children and has a passion for adventure team racing.

Kay has been with the Langford Callard team since 2000. She has responsibility for frame inventory management and is an Adidas sunglass specialist.

Her passion is for frames and enjoys introducing clients to new styles while keeping up to date with the latest optical trends.

Joining the Tauranga Eyecare  team in 2018, Tania has been appointed our Administration Manager and has quickly adapted to her various roles. Tania will also be found at reception at both  practices and is enjoying learning the technical aspects of spectacle dispensing and customer care.  A busy homelife being a mother of 4, Tania loves the Bay’s beaches  ,relaxing with books and enjoys all motorsport especially the speedway.

Tarryn joined the team in 2019. Having previously been in the corporate optometry world Tarryn was keen to experience independent optometry and the long term  patient relationships that it brings. She is experienced in customer relations and also has good contact lens instruction knowledge.She juggles a busy family life with a  work balance.

Andrea joined the Tauranga Eyecare team in 2018 from a background in administration,fashion and homeware retail. She can be found on reception at both practices and enjoys getting to know new and existing patients and helping with frame selections.  Outside of work she enjoys walking , travel , boating and reading.

Joining us in 2020,Tracy has experience in corporate optometry and  a nursing background. She enjoys the rapidly changing world of optometry,with good contact lens knowledge and the development of long term relationships with our patients. Away from work she is involved in building with her husband a local technology business along with being a mother of two. Fishing and  exploring the Bay of Plenty fill in any other spare time.

Joining us in 2020 from corporate optometry Andy is enjoying the long term patient relationships and clinical emphasis in independent optometry. She has strong skills in customer service,frame styling and contact lenses. She works in both practices. Away from work she enjoys all motor sport especially drifting.
