What is retinal photography?
Retinal Photography is the capturing of real time, high resolution images of your retina.
- Retinal photography serves as a diagnostic and screening tool when we look at your eyes
- As well as documenting any changes, retinal photography is especially relevant for glaucoma screening, macula degeneration and deterioration due to diabetes
We are proud to be at the forefront of Retinal Photography within New Zealand optometry, and it’s something we recommend for the majority of our patients (for establishing a baseline and monitoring changes over time).
We use Zeiss technology for all of our retinal photography (the highest image resolution) and this has a cost of 30.00 in addition to the examination fee.
